POSITION: Farmworker Legal Services (FLS), a non-profit law office, is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) staff attorney to join its dynamic and committed team working alongside agricultural workers and community partners to provide civil legal services to farmworker and animal production workers throughout Michigan. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM: Farmworker Legal Services (FLS) is a growing and nationally recognized non-profit law office and the statewide division of the Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) that fights for justice and dignity alongside the farmworker community through our systemic, multi-forum community engagement and direct legal representation of farmworkers in their civil legal matters. FLS currently has 10 permanent staff and 8 summer seasonal advocates based out of our Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and Ypsilanti (Ann Arbor area) offices. FLS provides a full range of civil legal services to Michigans eligible population of farmworkers and their dependents and prioritize cases including wage theft, trafficking, discrimination, sexual harassment, workplace health and safety, housing, civil rights, and labor-based immigration relief.
MAP works to advance the safety, independence, and economic stability of those most affected by poverty, racism, and other structurally oppressive systems by increasing access to justice and working for systemic solutions. MAP has provided civil legal aid for those unable to afford an attorney for more than 50 years, serving 13 counties through five legal aid offices as well as the statewide program that serves farmworkers (Farmworker Legal Services). Responsibilities: 1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Establishes and maintains trademark files: opens files, prepares formal documents&nbsp; for filing including, abstracts, drawings and preliminary amendments. 2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Reviews all incoming correspondence from foreign associates for essential docketing and for non-substantive responses due in connection with filing of applications. 3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On-going verbal and written communication with foreign associates and attorneys during filing and early prosecution of&nbsp; U.S. Trademark applications. 4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Maintains and updates docketing with respect to new filings and provides to guidance to others for further prosecution. 5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Establishes and maintains good working relationship with attorneys and staff, but is not assigned to any single attorney.&nbsp; Will work as a team member with other similar paralegals to establish back-up and workflow and will have joint responsibility for establishing quality control measures. 6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Other tasks and projects as may be assigned. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; BA degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience with some relevant work experience or a minimum of 3 years on-the-job experience with U.S.&nbsp;trademark prosecution filing. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines under supervision of attorney. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ability to concentrate on detailed work for up to 80% of worktime. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ability to work comfortable with advanced computer software (after training) and use effectively use and maintain a computer data base.&nbsp; Possible use of&nbsp; speech- to-text transcription of software. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions from a diverse group, including clients (usually in writing), attorneys and others, and to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and stress while organizing and maintaining multiple cases with the help of a computer data base.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; High level of responsibility, dedication, and accuracy required. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Work on rare occasions requires more than 37.5 hours per week to perform essential duties of the job; may occasionally require irregular hours.

Job DescriptionDe Novo, a boutique staffing and recruitment agency, is currently seeking a personal injury attorney with discovery review experience to work directly with one of our clients. This is a contract to possible perm position, on site at the firm’s Columbus, OH office. It is part-time to start (30 hours per week) with the possibility of going full-time if interested. The duration is ongoing and indefinite. We are looking for a motivated, committed, detail-oriented, dependable self-starter who takes pride in producing an exceptional work product in a timely manner and who can be flexible to the needs of the client.
The position involves handling sophisticated discovery. You will be working with human trafficking cases, receiving discovery, cross referencing it with other defendants, assisting with deficiency letters and creating a master corporate file making sure that what is provided in one case is copied to each individual file. Successful candidates will have five plus years of pre-litigation discovery experience. Ideal candidates will have experience using SmartAdvocate and Nextpoint. 
Qualifications:

<li>Must have an Ohio bar license in good standing</li>
<li>Must have 5+ years of pre-litigation discovery experience, document review experience is also preferred</li>
<li>Should have experience working with Google Drive; experience with SmartAdvocate and Nextpoint is preferred</li>
