<li>Assist with individual(s) participation in scheduled community or facility-based activities and assist with schedule development, as requested.</li>
<li>Explore community employment options and/or volunteer opportunities and help to develop skills and competencies necessary for individual(s) to pursue competitive integrated employment.</li>
<li>Participate with individual(s) in community activities, organizations, groups, associations, volunteer opportunities, or clubs to develop social networks, especially activities that provide purpose and responsibility or development of hobbies.</li>
<li>Assist individual(s) with financial management, budgeting, and the purchasing of preferred goods or products.</li>
<li>Assist individual(s) in learning to navigate the local community, including learning to use public or private transportation and other transportation options in the local area, where relevant.</li>
<li>Observe changes in behavior and physical condition and report accurately to the CPS Director</li>
<li>Support individual(s) to develop and/or maintain social networks and reciprocal relationships with members of the broader community.</li>
<li>Assist with ongoing training of individual(s) to develop independence in daily living skills/job duties.</li>
<li>Maintain various records pertaining to individuals served, following timely and proper documentation methods following service delivery.</li>
<li>Transport individual(s) to and from community engagement opportunities and activities, facility engagement, and/or volunteer sites as needed (to be designated by CPS Director).</li>
<li>Attend required in-service trainings and complete all required and/or assigned employee trainings in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by the CPS Director.</li>

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL:

<li>Minimum of 18 years of age, required.</li>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent, required.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license, required.</li>
<li>Experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferred.</li>

Working Conditions: 
The Direct Support Professional is subject to flexible hours, including split shifts, varied days and times, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnights, depending on coverage needs of the site and the company. This position may be expected to cover other sites. This position will travel regularly into the community and work in a variety of settings both inside and outside the site and throughout the community. The Direct Support Professional is subject to frequent interruptions and imposed deadlines. This person sits, walks, bends, lifts, reaches, and moves intermittently during working hours. 
This person is subject to frequent problem-solving activities and has regular contact with individuals, family members, friends, and the general public, who may be hostile or emotionally upset. The position may be subject to physically aggressive individuals and may be exposed to infectious diseases, odor, and dust.
