New Communities is seeking a talented professional to join our team as a DSP Team Leader for our intellectual disability program supporting adults with intellectual challenges and other disabilities. This full-time leadership position has limited supervisory responsibilities for residents and general oversight of direct care staff. The DSP Team Leader position typically follows a Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule, though flexibility is required to meet program needs. Providing after hours on-call supervision on a regular rotation is required.
 
DSP Team Leader Responsibilities include:

<li>Team Supervision: Lead and supervise the direct care team, addressing employee performance issues with the support of the Program Manager.</li>
<li>Staffing Coordination: Ensure safe and adequate facility coverage by coordinating staffing schedules.</li>
<li>Resident Support: Assist residents in achieving their individual service plan goals, providing personal care and other essential support to enhance their quality of life.</li>
<li>Crisis Management: Offer assistance and guidance to clients and staff during crisis situations.</li>
<li>Medication Oversight: Oversee all medication administration practices and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.</li>
<li>Intake &amp; Discharge Facilitation: Manage the intake and discharge process for residents, maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records.</li>

<li>Valid Maine driver’s license is required</li>
<li>One year of experience in a healthcare setting and one year of supervisory experience preferred</li>
<li>Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English</li>
<li>DSP, 40-hour CRMA, and Behavioral Intervention Training required within 120 days after hire. CPR/First Aid required on date of hire.</li>
