Harbor House of Central Florida is Orange County's state-certified Domestic Violence service provider. We are dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence through comprehensive services, including a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and community education.
Position Overview: The Shelter Supervisor will be responsible for the safety, operation, administration, and staffing of the emergency shelter, hotline, youth and kennel programs during the evening and weekends. The Shelter Supervisor will support the Shelter Manager in overseeing employees and programming while ensuring a focus on the agency's mission.
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Oversees evening and weekend operations of the shelter, hotline, youth and kennel programs. </li>
<li>Reviews and assesses crisis intervention provided to survivors and provides feedback and skill development to evening and weekend shelter advocates assuring quality of services.</li>

<li>Documents collect and compile statistical data to maintain compliance with established funding sources.</li>
<li>Participates in and assists in conducting monthly staff meetings on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Provides on-call response to shelter staff during assigned evenings and weekends.</li>
<li>Works with the Shelter Manager on shelter coverage to ensure adequate coverage and weekly review of payroll.</li>
<li>Responsible for assisting with the oversee of inventory, sorting, storage, and distribution of purchased and donated supplies for the emergency shelter during the evening and weekend hours.</li>
<li>Assist with overseeing volunteer groups.</li>
<li>Participate in the weekly shelter staffing schedule by working two (2) eight-hour shifts alongside direct service staff.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>

Qualifications:

<ul>
<li>Education: Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field is preferred. </li>
<li>Experience: Two (2) years' supervisory experience in human service field preferred. Relevant program experience may be considered in lieu of education. </li>
<li>Discretion: Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.</li>
<li>Licensing: Valid Florida Driver's License. Must be 21 years or older to meet agency insurance requirements.</li>
<li>Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to learn organization-specific software. Strong professional writing and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.</li>

Qualifications:

<li>Must be able to pass a New Hampshire National background check</li>
<li>Must complete state-required TB Testing</li>
<li>Must complete state-required Physical</li>
<li>1 year caregiver experience</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license/state ID and reliable daily transportation</li>
<li>Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations</li>
<li>Adequate physical endurance</li>
