The Organization
North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Supervision
Receives supervision from the Director of Privacy and Compliance, provides general supervision to Contract Administration and Privacy Specialist and other assigned staff.

Scope: Oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, consumer health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the Center’s information privacy practices. Responsible for negotiating and managing contracts made with third-party vendors. 

Supervision: Receives supervision from the Director of Privacy and Compliance, provides general supervision to Contract Administration and Privacy Specialist and other assigned staff.

<li>Performs initial and periodic information privacy risk assessments and conducts related ongoing compliance monitoring activities. </li>
<li>Works with Director of Privacy and Compliance and key departments to ensure the Center has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting the Center’s current and legal practices and requirements. </li>
<li>Ensures delivery of initial orientation and ongoing privacy training to all employees. </li>
<li>Initiates, facilitates and promotes activities to foster information privacy awareness within the Center and related entities. </li>
<li>Tracks, investigates and recommends / implements solutions to all privacy breaches. </li>
<li>Assists Director of Privacy and Compliance in tracking and overseeing all subpoenas seeking records from the Center </li>
<li>Works with the Director of Privacy and Compliance with any aspect of release of protected health information, to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the Center’s policies and procedures and legal requirements. </li>
<li>Serve as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages and executes outcomes from contract negotiations into contractual language. </li>
<li>Negotiate contract terms, conditions, and pricing, and ensure that contracts are accurately executed and satisfied. </li>
<li>Follow up to ensure contractual payments are consistent with contract terms and are made in accordance with the contract terms. </li>
<li>Resolve any contract conflicts. </li>
<li>Prepare contracts for approval by the Board of Trustees. </li>
<li>Additional duties as assigned. </li>

EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES: 
Knowledge: California developmental services system, Regional Center internal operations (particularly in the area of eligibility), administrative principles and practices, management and supervisory principles and practices. Knowledge of the HITECH Act and HIPPA. 
Skills: Research, critical review, conflict mediation. Decision making in the administration of program and/or service standards. Interpretation of complex governmental (and other) regulatory information. Strong oral and written communications. Employee training. 
Education &amp; Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one to three years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and three to five years of experience.

Senior Associate Attorneys work alongside Legal Assistants, Paralegals, Team Managers, Partners, and other Associates to prepare and file a variety of business-related non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions, including taking a leading role in client communication, working closely with legal support teams to ensure understanding of general and specific case strategies, and conducting high-level case reviews of work done by legal support teams.

Senior Associate Attorney Responsibilities:

<li>Analyzing and communicating options to address clients business immigration needs</li>
<li>Maintaining timely and accurate lines of communications with clients both during and after the application process to provide support with immigration program management and compliance</li>
<li>Supervising and collaborating with supporting staff to ensure that applications are prepared and filed correctly</li>
<li>Maintaining accuracy for high volume, rapid turnover cases</li>
<li>Assisting clients and staff with questions throughout the filing process</li>

Requirements:

<li>Valid membership in an applicable Bar association</li>
<li>5+ years of business immigration experience

<li>Strong knowledge of a variety of case types, including NIV (H-1B, TN, L, E, B, etc.) and IV (PERM, IV, AOS) </li>

<li>Proven track record of success in a high-volume, fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Excellent communication and writing skills</li>
