This Position reports to:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful product conception to creation. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division at the North American Technology Center in Mebane, NC.
 
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Maintaining recognized expertise in a specific area by integrating the latest developments in technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work.</li>
<li>Working closely with the Mebane Factory, finding new ways of solving problems by following your ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining ways to validate them.</li>
<li>Documenting work results (like findings, designs, or software), allowing others to maintain and improve them.</li>
<li>Understanding and initiating IP generation in your area of specialization and participating in the project IP strategy development.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical power equipment industry required.</li>
<li>Proficiency in electrical equipment design in one or more of the following products: switchgear, motor controllers, power protection, power inverters, transformers, meters, circuit breakers, contactors, and switches, etc.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of simulation software (Dielectric, thermal, structural ) desired.</li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant industry standards. (ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, and UL.)</li>
<li>Proficiency in electrical switchgear design, preferably Medium Voltage products preferred.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Arc resistant product design and mitigation a plus.</li>
<li>Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.</li>

Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>­Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by responding promptly to customer inquiries, maintaining clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, and delivering professional service and maintenance.</li>
<li>Implement our customer support strategy to enhance long-term customer loyalty across the installed base.</li>
<li>Accurately document work activities in our customer management database to maintain a comprehensive service history for regulatory compliance.</li>
<li>Own the on-site spare and consumable inventory and storage area(s).</li>
<li>Assist with the installation of new systems at customer sites when necessary.</li>
<li>Demonstrate attention to detail and a strong ability to follow up on tasks.</li>
<li>Work independently and effectively in a cross-functional team environment.</li>
<li>Travel outside assigned territory as required to assist other ViewRay Systems sites and Field Service Engineers.&nbsp;Some sites may be outside the United States.&nbsp;</li>

Education, Experience, and Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Biomedical Engineering (BME), Mechanical Engineering (ME) or equivalent experience required.
 
Experience
2-4 years of field service experience with radiation-producing medical devices such as Linear Accelerators, MRI, or CT is preferred.
-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience with high-power RF systems, magnetics, and cryogenic systems is preferred.
-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;2 years of experience in field service for medical devices and engineering is preferred.
-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;2 years of experience working with high-power RF systems, magnetics, and cryogenic systems is preferred.
 
Skills

<li>Strong written and oral communication skills.</li>

<li>Periodically lift, move, or hold machine parts weighing up to 80 pounds.</li>
<li>Periodically stand, kneel, or crouch as needed during machine maintenance or repair tasks.</li>
