Biologist record detailed information on the gear and fishing activity of the vessels. Biologists work on deck on vessels ranging from 20 to 100 on trips roughly ranging from 7 to 14 days collecting data on fish catch and discard and incidental takes such as marine mammals, seabirds and marine turtles.After attending a 3-week paid training (03/15/2026 - 04/03/2026)that be administered in person inFalmouth, MAbiologists are deployed from ports throughout New England and Mid-Atlantic states. Gear types assessed include, but limited to, trawl, and gillnet.
 
Accommodations and meal reimbursement during in person session of training are provided.Training includes instructions on sampling protocols, gear, fisheries, fish identification, marine mammal/sea turtle identification, and safety.
 
This is a challenging job, and candidates must be mentally prepared to be away from home for multiple days, and must be physically able to handle heavy lifting, working odd hours, and long days in rough seas. Observing provides an excellent career in marine biology, as biologists are widely recognized as being excellent field biologists. A broad range of advancement opportunities are available to those who demonstrate appropriate capabilities. Those opportunities include, but are not limited to, project management, field supervisors, and fieldwork in other programs.
 
Compensation:Biologistsstarting pay is $20.25/hour.Dependent on enrollment in our H&amp;W benefit, biologists may also be eligible for anadditional $4.57/hourfor the first 40 hours worked on each calendar week for a total of$24.82 hour. This is a fulltime position with benefits.Annually, biologists earn between $35K - $55K a yeardependent on their availability to deploy offshore and their personal sea day accomplishments. Biologists will be paid a minimum of 12 hours for each calendar day offshore and are also eligible for additional compensable activities while on land.

Travel is reimbursedat an hourly rate along with compensation for miles accrued on a personal vehicle as well as per diem at the specified Government rate.
 
Minimum Qualifications:

The primary focus is to implement conservation efforts in habitats associated with oak, grassland, forest, and others as needed. This position will be supervised by Pheasants Forever with daily guidance provided by the local NRCS District Conservationists. Duties will include a mix of field and computer work.&nbsp; This position will be located in McMinnville, Oregon, and will be expected to work closely with NRCS, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and collaborative partnerships in the region.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Duties: Assist NRCS staff with the following, including but not limited to:

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Granulation Operator to support various machinery for agglomeration and particle sizing of raw materials, ensuring proper process controls like temperature, airflow, and spray rates. Key tasks include verifying materials, following manufacturing instructions, and ensuring the final product meets specifications for tablets, capsules, or powder blends. The operator is responsible for adhering to cGMP standards, safety practices, and coordinating with Quality Control on batch sign-offs. Additional duties include weighing blends and using metal detection and milling equipment when required.

What You’ll Do:
<ul>
<li>Ability to operate machinery as necessary for agglomeration and particle sizing of formulated of formulated raw materials as per each batch record manufacturing instructions. </li>
<li>Operate and manage process controls, including inlet and outlet temperatures, air flow, dust collection (Magnehelic), solution preparation, spray rates, and spray nozzle calibration, for fluidized bed granulators.</li>
<li>Handle accessory bowls and dump stations, ensuring proper setup and operation.</li>
<li>Operate various blenders, including Hobart mixer, ribbon blender, twin shell blender, and Fitzmills, while adjusting speeds and screen sizes as needed.</li>
<li>Manage roller compaction equipment, adjusting rollers and screen sizes to achieve desired particle sizes.</li>
<li>Utilize oscillators for particle sizing, and apply manual granulation methods using trays, racks, and dryers as per batch specifications.</li>
<li>Keep attention to particle sizing detail to ensure mfg. instructions are properly executed is required which contributes to the overall ability to compress tablets, fill capsules, or provide powder blends according to customer specifications.</li>
<li>Verification of materials for each batch as per the batch record and sign off with a second person is required as materials are 'top loaded' into the mixers from staging area.</li>
<li>Lifting of materials within OSHA limits is required. </li>
<li>Sanitation, cGMP's, adherence to SOP's and safe work practices is always required. </li>
<li>Requires coordination with Quality Control on batch record signoffs and anything that violates cGMP's.</li>
<li>Must have ability to read and follow manufacturing instructions to property load raw materials (sequentially), close and seal Intel portholes and discharge valves, operate fluid bed and mixers for blending of raw materials and unload/discharge final product blends into sanitary containers.</li>
<li>Must weigh final blends using floor scales for calculation of outgoing yield versus incoming theoretical yield. Use of metal detection equipment, milling/particle sizing equipment including sieves/sifters is required as necessary. </li>

What You’ll Bring:

<li>High School Diploma or Certificate; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training.</li>

<li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to read, write and speak English.</li>
<li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Familiar with the metric system.</li>
<li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems Involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.</li>
<li>Must be able to stand for 10 hours and able to lift 50lbs. Lifting of raw material containers that fall within OSHA limitations Is necessary. Accuracy and attention to detail is extremely critical.</li>
<li>Other activities include material handling using forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks. Interface as either a checker or weigher to satisfy double checks and balances requirement and must be able to set up digital scales and wear a dust mask.</li>

Biologist record detailed information on the gear and fishing activity of the vessels. Biologists work on deck on vessels ranging from 20 to 100 on trips roughly ranging from 7 to 14 days collecting data on fish catch and discard and incidental takes such as marine mammals, seabirds and marine turtles.After attending a 3-week paid training (03/15/2026 - 04/03/2026)that be administered in person inFalmouth, MAbiologists are deployed from ports throughout New England and Mid-Atlantic states. Gear types assessed include, but limited to, trawl, and gillnet.
 
Accommodations and meal reimbursement during in person session of training are provided.Training includes instructions on sampling protocols, gear, fisheries, fish identification, marine mammal/sea turtle identification, and safety.
 
This is a challenging job, and candidates must be mentally prepared to be away from home for multiple days, and must be physically able to handle heavy lifting, working odd hours, and long days in rough seas. Observing provides an excellent career in marine biology, as biologists are widely recognized as being excellent field biologists. A broad range of advancement opportunities are available to those who demonstrate appropriate capabilities. Those opportunities include, but are not limited to, project management, field supervisors, and fieldwork in other programs.
 
Compensation:Biologistsstarting pay is $20.25/hour.Dependent on enrollment in our H&amp;W benefit, biologists may also be eligible for anadditional $4.57/hourfor the first 40 hours worked on each calendar week for a total of$24.82 hour. This is a fulltime position with benefits.Annually, biologists earn between $35K - $55K a yeardependent on their availability to deploy offshore and their personal sea day accomplishments. Biologists will be paid a minimum of 12 hours for each calendar day offshore and are also eligible for additional compensable activities while on land.
