Liberal Studies at New York University invites applications for three Postdoctoral Faculty Fellow positions to begin September 1, 2026, pending administrative and budgetary approval.
The Liberal Studies Core is a dynamic liberal arts curriculum that provides a global and interdisciplinary foundation for nearly 100 NYU majors. The curriculum emphasizes conceptual and spatial frameworks to trace the movement of ideas and the interconnectivity of material culture, through the study of different texts, histories, exchanges, structures and systems, languages, arts, and writing from early antiquity through contemporary times. Small seminar-style classes and close faculty-student interaction ensure the benefits of a liberal arts college within a large urban research university. We are especially interested in hiring qualified candidates who can contribute through their research, teaching and service to the intellectual diversity and excellence of the Liberal Studies community.
Liberal Studies Postdoctoral Faculty Fellows teach two courses each semester in the Core Curriculum. Fellows work closely with an assigned Faculty Mentor, they attend pedagogy workshops that explore innovative approaches to interdisciplinary global teaching, and they have the opportunity to lead faculty development workshops or host program wide events in their area of scholarly, creative, or pedagogical expertise.The initial appointment is for one (1) year, and it may be renewed for two additional years, based upon satisfactory performance reviews and mutual agreement.&nbsp; Postdoctoral Faculty Fellows are limited to a maximum of three (3) years in rank; they are non-tenure track.

PhD in Political Theory, Philosophy, History, or related fields in the social sciences. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to draw on ancient and early modern sources in their teaching with a global emphasis in the Global Works and Society sequence of the Core Curriculum. Candidates must embrace interdisciplinary and intersectional approaches from a variety of global perspectives and must have the ability to examine relationships of power and to interrogate the historical roots of current challenges.
WRITING (one position)
PhD in Writing Studies, Creative Writing, Nonfiction Writing, Rhetoric, Journalism, Translation Studies, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to teach first-year writing in an interdisciplinary and global-focused LS Core Curriculum. Candidates with additional specialization in TESOL, science/environmental writing, and/or qualitative research writing are strongly encouraged to apply.
Minimum qualifications: Successful candidates must have a PhD conferred by the date of appointment, or have received the PhD no more than three years before the date of appointment. PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:&nbsp;The Research Associate will serve as a support person for the Entomology and Insect Ecology and Management Program, and will assist in developing, conducting, and managing field and Laboratory research for this program at Kentucky State University. &nbsp; The successful candidate will also help prepare manuscripts for publishing in journals and presenting relevant information at scientific meetings, in addition to Extension and outreach programming such as the KSU Third Thursday Sustainable Ag Workshops. &nbsp; &nbsp;

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:The successful candidate in this position will work closely with the principal investigator and be a member of a team conducting investigative field and laboratory research focusing on conservation biological control using native perennial plants to increase biodiversity of insect predators and parasitoids (i.e., natural enemies) to manage pest insects in vegetable and fruit crops. Specifically we are attracting several species of lady beetles, lacewings, big eyed bugs, minute pirate bugs, ground beetles and other predators and parasitoids of sweet corn pests to this and other crops. This position will also evaluate/develop sustainable methods of sweet corn insect pest management by conducting laboratory bioassays of flowering plants, weeds, and synthetic herbivore induced plant protection odors which may attract or repel beneficial insects.

This position involves designing and implementing, and maintaining field, laboratory, and greenhouse experiments. &nbsp;It involves setting up experiments, collecting, entering, and statistical analyses of data, assisting with development of manuscripts for publication, PowerPoints for presenting, plus training and supervising other researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates who are conducting research in the program. &nbsp;Experience operating farm machinery (ie. tractors, planters, cultivators, tine weeders, etc.) is preferred. &nbsp;Experience analyzing data using modern statistical software is essential as is fluency in all Microsoft Office Software. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Research Assistant

The National Center for Women and Information Technology&nbsp;(NCWIT) welcomes applications for a&nbsp;research associate to lead, elevate, and operationalize racial equity and inclusion efforts across the NCWIT ecosystem, focusing on both internal programs and initiatives and externally with members and key partners. This position will provide strategic planning and collaboration in the areas of thought leadership, research, and resources related to racial equity and inclusion.

The National Center for Women &amp; Information Technology (NCWIT) is a non-profit community of more than 1,600 higher education institutions, companies, nonprofits, and government organizations nationwide working to increase the meaningful and influential participation in computing of persons with marginalized gender identities at the intersections of race/ethnicity, class, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, and other historically marginalized identities — in the field of computing, particularly in terms of innovation and development. NCWIT equips change leaders with resources and tools for taking action in recruiting, retaining, and advancing these individuals from K–12 and higher education through tech industry and entrepreneurial careers.&nbsp;
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
<ul>
<li>Lead efforts to prioritize racial equity and inclusion across NCWIT programs, alliances and activities.</li>
<li>Work with organizational leadership to set priorities for the organization relative to racial equity and inclusion.</li>
<li>Manage the racial equity committee within NCWIT to identify and support racial-equity-related initiatives for the organization.</li>
<li>Develop and strengthen partnerships with external groups focused on racial equity.</li>
<li>Participate in the Research and Resource Leadership Team to co-create NCWIT’s strategy and priorities for social science research and resources.</li>
<li>Conduct research relative to race and ethnicity, as funding is available.</li>
<li>Create and review NCWIT resources with a racial equity lens.</li>
<li>Advise and collaborate, as needed, on new NCWIT projects and programs.</li>
<li>Provide strategic collaboration and support to NCWIT Program and Alliance Directors, NCWIT Communications team, and other key NCWIT partners.</li>

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 plus a generous benefits package provided through the University of Colorado.&nbsp;

NCWIT Research Associate

The Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society (CRRES) at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for up to two <a href="https://crres.indiana.edu/programs/postdoctoral-fellowships/index.html" target="_blank">CRRES Postdoctoral Fellowships</a>. These fellowships provide support to scholars studying race and ethnicity from a broad range of fields in the social sciences and humanities, including education, criminal justice, environmental studies, international studies (e.g., climate, human rights, and development), gender/sexualities, public health, and media (e.g., consumer culture, game design, film, social media activism, and sports media). We are particularly interested in candidates whose research intersects with African American and African Diaspora Studies, Native and Indigenous Studies, Latino Studies, Asian American Studies, African Studies, Latin American Studies, and/or Global Indigenous Studies. Fellows will be placed in one of IU’s <a href="https://www.indiana.edu/academics/schools.html" target="_blank">sixteen degree granting schools</a>, and are expected to pursue research activities associated with their primary area of work, as demonstrated by conference presentations and published works. CRRES fellowships are designed to advance the careers of new scholars by providing opportunities to research, teach, and connect with mentors and with faculty in host departments. Strong applicants will demonstrate evidence of scholarly potential that will make them competitive for tenure-track appointments at Indiana University and other research universities.
Terms of Agreement Fellows are expected to pursue research, teach one course during each year of residency, and participate in CRRES as well as host department activities and seminars. This two-year position begins on August 1, 2024 and ends on May 31, 2026, at a 10-month annual salary of $51,500. Postdoctoral fellows will also receive Indiana University health benefits and $3,000 each year in research support.
