We’re looking for compassionate, reliable caregivers who genuinely love working with children to join our growing team. We are currently hiring for Full-Time, Part-Time and Seasonal sitters with the following schedule options available:

<li>5 AM- 5 PM</li>
<li>7 AM- 7 PM</li>
<li>12 PM- 12 AM</li>
<li>Weekends are ok too if you also have three weekdays of full availability, Monday- Friday.</li>

What You’ll Do:
<ul>
<li>Engage:&nbsp;Provide attentive care to children aged 6 weeks to 13 years, tailoring activities to their developmental stage.</li>
<li>Play:&nbsp;Create memorable moments with games, crafts, and age-appropriate activities.</li>
<li>Ensure Safety:&nbsp;Always prioritize the well-being of the children in your care.</li>
<li>Meal Prep:&nbsp;Prepare meals and snacks for the kids during your shift.</li>
<li>Tidy Up:&nbsp;Light clean-up of play areas and the kitchen after activities (with help from the kids when appropriate).</li>
<li>Build Connections:&nbsp;Work with diverse families and children, creating meaningful bonds.</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking For:
<ul>
<li>Experience:&nbsp;At least 6 months of childcare experience </li>
<li>References:&nbsp;Three childcare or professional references.</li>
<li>Certifications:&nbsp;CPR and First Aid certified—or we’ll assist you in obtaining these.</li>
<li>Transportation:&nbsp;Reliable transportation and the ability to commute up to 30 miles.</li>
<li>Background Check:&nbsp;Ability to pass a thorough background screening.</li>
<li>Eligibility:&nbsp;Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S..</li>

Job Description
White Bear Lake Area Schools is currently hiring for multiple Child Care Assistant positions within our before and after school Extended Day Programs, which operate at all nine elementary schools. These programs offer a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children in grades K–5 during out-of-school hours.
The Child Care Assistant is responsible for supervising and leading a designated group of students, with a focus on planning and implementing enrichment and recreational activities that incorporate student interests and voices. This role plays a key part in building positive relationships, maintaining group management, and supporting students' social and emotional growth.
Your Role Will Include:
<ul>
<li>Lead and supervise a group of elementary-aged students during before and/or after school hours.</li>
<li>Plan and implement engaging enrichment and recreational activities that reflect student interests and promote learning, creativity, and social development.</li>
<li>Foster a positive and inclusive environment through strong group management, relationship-building, and clear behavior expectations.</li>
<li>Support student well-being by implementing daily routines, maintaining a safe and organized space, and following individualized support plans as needed.</li>
<li>Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and families to ensure high-quality program delivery.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum age: 16 years old.</li>
<li>Education: High School Diploma or GED (required if 18 years or older).</li>
<li>Experience working with school-aged children (formal or informal).</li>
<li>Successful completion of background check. </li>
</ul>
Salary and Benefits:
<ul>
<li>Starting at $19.39/hour.&nbsp;</li>
<li>On-the-job, paid training for first aid, CPR, child development and working with special needs children.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<li>Shift times - 2:00-5:30 PM; hours may vary based on site needs and staff availability.
