Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A middle school in Aurora, IL is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a leave contract starting on August 11, 2025, through November 10, 2025. This position will support 8th-grade students and provides an opportunity to work closely with a manageable caseload of 9-13 students, delivering both co-taught and instructional classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to students individual education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach core curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and support staff regarding student development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably 8th grade.
- Strong knowledge of special education procedures and IEP implementation.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues across disciplines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage a leave contract timetable.
