Job Title: Thermoforming Machine Operator
Location: Cedar Springs, MI
Shifts: 1st (5:50 AM - 2:00 PM), 2nd (1:50 PM - 10:00 PM) and 3rd (9:50 PM - 6:00 AM)
Pay: $20-22/hr.
Job Summary:
The Thermoforming Machine Operator operates and maintains thermoforming machines to safely and efficiently produce high-quality plastic products while following department processes and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor thermoforming machines for malfunctions or product defects; stop and report issues as needed.
- Perform regular inspections of thermoformed products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Conduct hourly quality checks using calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, and Magna Mic.
- Inspect packed boxes for correct size, count, and weight during quality checks.
- Perform roll changes to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Read and follow job tickets and packaging guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines and work area.
- Remove and discard scrap in properly labeled containers.
- Assist packers by stacking finished product, assembling boxes, and covering breaks.
- Operate hydraulic jack lifts to move materials as needed.
- Inspect and reject defective film or parts and provide samples when required.
- Change/install bags on wicket baggers.
- Help train new or temporary team members.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to overall department quality and output.
