Values Into Action provides individualized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to help people to design and live their best lives, and be active members within their communities.
As a Support Partner (DSP) you will be providing direct support in partnership with people with disabilities, on a one-to-one basis, in their own homes and communities. Services include that of community involvement and/or accommodation with activities of daily living including personal care, communication, transportation and recreation.
We are hiring two part-time positions in Philadelphia for the following shifts:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 3-11PM (24 hours per week)
or
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 3-11PM (24 hours per week)
The person requires total support with personal care (bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and transferring using a Hoyer lift) Staff need to be comfortable supporting an individual in a motorized wheelchair. Staff needs to support the individual with healthcare appointments, medication administration, and support with shopping and household cleaning, and financial management. Experience with technology skills with devices such as iPads, laptops, and Amazon Alexa is preferred. Staff will transport the individual using her wheelchair-accessible van to her appointments and community outings at her request.

Requirements:
- current CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred
- CNA preferred but not required
- must have valid driver's license with clean driving record
- must be creative in the community
- Candidates must be patient, creative, have effective communication skills, and demonstrate professionalism.
- A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year experience supporting people to live in the community.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with clean driving record
- 18 years of age or older
- Be or willing to be Covid-19 Vaccinated prior to employment
- Personal or professional experience with people with intellectual disabilities and a mental health diagnosis is a plus but not a requirement
