Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation in matters related to family law, including divorce, child custody, and property division. The attorney will advocate for clients' rights and ensure their interests are protected throughout the legal process.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and property division matters.
- Conduct legal research to support case arguments and strategies.
- Prepare legal documents, including petitions, motions, and court filings.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
- Advocate for clients in court proceedings, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
- Provide legal guidance and advice to clients throughout the legal process.
- Engage in mediation sessions to resolve disputes amicably when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and documentation.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers and financial experts, as needed.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law litigation.
- Strong litigation skills with a proven track record in court.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Knowledge of mediation practices and child custody laws is a plus.
- Ability to represent clients with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
