Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Job Coach III is responsible for leading vocational work crews and providing hands-on coaching to individuals with disabilities as they perform job tasks in community-based employment settings. This role includes operating the organization's trucks for cardboard recycling and donation pick-ups, ensuring safe transport and task completion. The Job Coach III will support and guide two to three individuals on the job, helping them build the skills and confidence necessary to work as independently as possible. This position also involves operating forklifts during specific tasks-paid training and certification will be provided.Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate company vehicles (e.g., box trucks, utility trucks) for scheduled cardboard recycling and donation collection routes.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes (paid training and certification provided).
  • Supervise and actively coach a team of 2–3 individuals with developmental or other disabilities during job tasks.
  • Demonstrate work tasks, provide constructive feedback, and model appropriate workplace behaviors.
  • Monitor individual progress and adapt coaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and needs.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times, both in transit and at work sites.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to report progress and challenges for each individual.
  • Complete daily documentation, including route logs, timesheets, and individual progress notes.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with community partners, donors, and staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and ensure equipment is functioning properly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational training or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record; must be insurable under agency policy.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a job coaching/supportive employment role preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading materials.
  • Willingness to complete paid forklift training and operate forklifts as needed.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and respect for individuals served.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently outdoors and in community settings.
  • Driving and physical labor involved on a regular basis.
  • May include varied weather conditions and exposure to donated goods.
  • Use of forklifts and other equipment in warehouse or outdoor settings.
