Job Description:
The Automation Technician provides Automation-I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) support to East Texas Operations in the Haynesville Shale area. The role includes installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation and instrumentation equipment in oil and gas production environments, supporting operational safety, and working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Automation-I&E equipment including PLC components, transmitters (wired and wireless), communications equipment, HMIs, and related systems.
  • Utilize SCADA systems for operational monitoring.
  • Perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures on relevant equipment.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to ensure optimal facility operation.
  • Promote and engage in a strong safety culture.
  • Support additional facility operations as assigned.
  • Participate in a call-out rotation (nights, weekends, holidays) once trained.
  • Work late hours as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair Allen Bradley PLCs, ABB TotalFlow, Fisher ROC, transmitters, and related automation equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical circuits and components.
  • Experience with communications equipment such as Freewave, XetaWave, RedLion, ABB, GE MDS.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of oil & gas production equipment and operations (e.g., plunger, choke control, separator dump controls, pressure management, amine plant control, safety system control).
  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments and heights, with proper certification for fall protection.
  • Ability to take and pass a Fit Test and work in H2S environments using SCBA.
  • Safety-conscious, self-starter, team-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced personnel.

Role Details:

Location: Center, TX

Pay Rates: $60/hr (W2)

Reimbursements: $125/day truck allowance
