Your Role:
MilliporeSigma in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Quality Control Chemist to join our Quality Control department. In this vital role, you will conduct release testing for raw materials, manufactured goods, purchased materials for repackaging, and packaged good for sale. The department has both an Analytical Chemistry lab and Microbiology lab. You will perform analytical chemistry testing against a multitude of analytical specifications to determine whether the material meets or does not meet requirements. This position involves wet chemistry testing and/or instrumental analysis.
Responsibilities:

- Work closely with Department Supervisor and Team Leads to ensure that departmental tasks are completed on time
- Follow all safety requirements and refer to MSDS for PPE and other safety guidance
- Practice proper laboratory safety and waste disposal
- Maintain Laboratory space and instruments
- Perform testing per documented procedure
- Recognize out-of-spec (OOS) results and initiate OOS investigation
- Perform needed instrument or titrant verification/calibration during scheduled time
- Demonstrate Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Data Integrity Principles

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or other Life Science field with 2+ years of laboratory experience

-OR-
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or other Life Science field with 3+ years of industry laboratory experience
\n
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the following: FT-IR, Auto-Titrators for Assay and Moisture, Wet Chemistry testing techniques, UV-Vis, pH, and Solution preparations

- Ability to perform all functions in a safe and timely manner in accordance with OSHA standards and general rules and regulations governing the workplace
- Detail oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, well-organized

Pay Range for this position: $24.00 - $44.00/hour
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
