Senior Engineering Technician - Onsite
Pay Rate Range: $28.00/hr. - $30.66/hr.
Description/Comment:
***ON-SITE***
Provides technical support to engineers and scientists on a variety of technical tasks. Develops and recommends procedures and methods and prepares technical reports and documentation. Performs technical evaluations of events to determine root cause; recommends corrective action. Responsibilities are within the Technical Specialty/Skilled Trade Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines. This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education, or training. The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making. The job should possess a good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts & principles upon which the job is based. The knowledge can be acquired through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines. This job typically requires a minimum of 3 or more years experience.

Essential functions include:
Conducting wear testing and characterization of prosthetic joint implant bearing materials and designs using state of the art joint wear simulators and analytical techniques such as white light interferometry and CMM.
Overall responsibilities are as follows:
- Test administration involving set-up, joint simulator operation and data collection.
- Characterization of materials using techniques such as WLI and CMM.
- Test equipment and laboratory maintenance, including test supply management.
