Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled Legal Assistant to join our team in Miami, Florida. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to support a busy insurance defense law firm with personal injury defense cases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience providing administrative and legal support within a litigation environment while demonstrating exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and meetings to support litigation attorneys.
• Prepare accurate and detail-oriented legal correspondence and documentation.
• File legal documents electronically with State and Federal Courts using e-filing systems.
• Manage electronic filing systems, sorting and categorizing correspondence, records, and other legal documents.
• Submit invoices for payment and maintain attorney calendars to ensure efficient workflow.
• Utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other legal software tools to perform daily tasks effectively.
• Handle e-courtesy filings across various counties in the state.
• Assist attorneys in delivering high-quality legal support and uphold firm standards.
• Ensure compliance with procedural requirements and deadlines in all legal filings.• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in insurance defense or personal injury defense.
• Proficiency in e-filing systems and electronic document management.
• Strong skills in calendar management and scheduling for legal proceedings.
• Expertise in drafting legal correspondence and documents with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software such as PerfectLaw.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Proven organizational skills and experience managing filing systems in a legal environment.
