Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will be the frontline support to customers, addressing service or work order requests with exceptional customer service. You will provide clear explanations regarding the condition of equipment, assess necessary work, and update customers on the status of their work orders. Building rapport through effective communication and professionalism is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventive maintenance, and repairs on air compressors, air dryers, pumps, and vacuum equipment.
  • Install new equipment and ensure proper functioning.
  • Be available for on-call duties in rotation with other technicians to handle after-hours service calls, including weekends.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, suggesting and performing repairs with customer approval.
  • Collect and ship oil samples, ensuring all required information is completed and samples are sealed properly.
  • Complete detailed paperwork supporting the condition of equipment, actions taken, and additional service recommendations.
  • Assist occasionally with preparing service quotations.
  • Maintain and track company tools and van inventory, ensuring all company property is in good working condition.
  • Complete assigned safety training and advocate for safety by following company policies and procedures.
  • Progress through the company's Good-To-Great Program to enhance service quality.
  • Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in air compressor service and field service as a Service Technician.
  • Experience in performing maintenance and preventive maintenance on air compressors.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and performing diagnostic assessments.
  • Skilled in installing air compressors, air dryers, pumps, and vacuums.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Possess basic tools; job-specific tools will be provided.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid organizational skills with multitasking ability and attention to detail.
  • Valid Driver’s License with willingness to travel overnight occasionally.
  • Willingness to work overtime and be on-call, including holidays.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse educational and technical backgrounds.
  • Previous experience with pumps, compressors, refrigeration, piping, and vacuum equipment is an asset.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
