Job Description:

The Engineering Technician D will primarily support Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and RF Engineering on the production floor. This position is focused on assisting in root cause investigations of Customer Escapes (RMAs/R1s), troubleshooting units with unresolved or complex failures, executing Temporary Instructions (TIs) for qualification builds and testing related to development programs, and providing broad engineering support as needed.

The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision and must be comfortable handling complex troubleshooting and hands-on technical challenges in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Functions:

The individual’s primary responsibilities will include:

  • Execute Temporary Instructions (TIs) for qualification builds and testing related to development programs.
  • Support root cause investigations for Customer Escapes (RMAs/R1s), documenting findings and corrective actions.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting of units with unresolved or complex failures beyond standard production diagnostics, including RF, digital, analog, and power supply circuits.
  • Partner with Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and RF Engineering to implement process improvements and resolve production issues.
  • Assist with production support tasks such as rework, debug, and validation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain clear communication with engineering teams, documenting results and recommendations.
  • Support other engineering needs as assigned, including parts research and coordination with outside vendors when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of relevant technical experience, or
  • 2 years post-secondary/Associate’s Degree in a technical field with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debug skills across RF, digital, analog, and power systems.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering instructions.
  • Comfortable working independently on the production floor with minimal supervision.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong communication skills
  • IPC certified (IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721)
  • Experience focused on working with radios and radio frequency
  • Experience supporting engineering investigations and implementing corrective actions
