Position Overview

As aSolidWorks Designerat our Client, you'll design and developweld fixtures, assembly fixtures, and custom toolingto support the production of material handling and storage products. You'll collaborate closely with our engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to turn concepts into reliable, cost-effective, and efficient solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both creative design and practical application, with a hands-on approach to solving engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and developmaterial handling and storage systems, including manufacturing and assembly fixtures, using SolidWorks.

  • Produce detailed3D models, assemblies, and 2D technical drawingswith precise tolerances and specifications.

  • Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet production efficiency, safety, and quality goals.

  • Conductdesign and performance reviewsto verify durability, compliance, and functionality.

  • Supportprototyping, testing, and validationof new designs, incorporating feedback to optimize results.

  • PrepareBills of Materials (BOMs)and coordinate with procurement for material selection.

  • Ensure compliance withsafety, ergonomic, and industry standardsfor material handling environments.

  • Provide ongoingtechnical supportduring design implementation and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ yearsof experience in SolidWorks for product design, 3D modeling, and technical drawings.

  • Proven background indesigning weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, or production tooling.

  • Solid understanding ofmanufacturing processessuch as welding, machining, and assembly.

  • Proficient inGD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience withFinite Element Analysis (FEA)for stress/load validation in SolidWorks.

  • Knowledge ofCNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or additive manufacturing.

  • Familiarity withASME, ISO, or AWSstandards for welding and fixture design.

Salary info:

$28.85 - $40.87 / hr
