About the Position:
Robert Half Legal is seeking a skilled Litigation Legal Assistant to join a reputable law firm located in Arlington, TX. This dynamic position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing legal team specializing in Business Litigation, while honing your expertise in litigation support. Key Responsibilities:
- e-Filing: Manage extensive e-filing with state and federal courts, ensuring timely and accurate submission of legal documents.
- Proofing & Document Revision: Review and revise litigation documents with precision, including motions, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
- Word Processing: Assist attorney by transcribing documents from dictation and formatting / reviewing documents.
- Mailing & Correspondence: Prepare and handle outgoing mail, as well as maintain meticulous records of all correspondence.
- Calendar Management: Coordinate and manage attorney schedules, including deadlines, meetings, court dates, depositions, and other critical events.
- Expense Reporting: Compile, organize, and submit attorney expense reports in compliance with firm protocols.
- Scheduling Depositions: Arrange depositions and ensure proper communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court reporters.
- Trial Preparation: Provide thorough trial support, including creating trial notebooks, organizing exhibits, and other prep activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a legal assistant in a litigation-focused environment, ideally with business litigation exposure.
- Exceptional proofing and organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work overtime during trial preparation periods.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and external parties.
- Ability to adapt to both modern legal practices and legacy tools like Dictaphones.
Technical Skills:
- Software Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, to assist with document creation and management tasks.
- e-Filing Platforms: Strong familiarity with online court filing systems, including filing processes in Texas courts.
