Location: Morristown, TN (with occasional travel to additional company facilities)

Position Overview

A leading manufacturer of industrial systems and engineered solutions is seeking a Strategic Project Manager to oversee cross-functional projects involving sales, engineering, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will coordinate complex, customer-driven projects—ensuring that products are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.

This position requires a results-oriented professional who excels in communication, organization, and leadership, with the ability to guide teams through all phases of project execution in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple engineering and manufacturing projects from initiation through delivery.

  • Develop detailed project schedules and resource plans in collaboration with cross-functional leaders.

  • Conduct project cost analysis, monitor expenses, and ensure alignment with initial estimates.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments, customers, and external vendors.

  • Manage project documentation, approvals, and progress tracking to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Perform risk assessments related to schedule, cost, and quality; identify mitigation strategies.

  • Facilitate communication between engineering, operations, and production teams to maintain timeline integrity.

  • Track project milestones, address challenges proactively, and ensure that deliverables meet customer expectations.

  • Support process improvements and continuous enhancement of project management practices.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field required.

  • 3+ years of experience in project management within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.

  • PMP, CAPM, or PgMP certification preferred.

  • Strong technical understanding of engineered products or process systems.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software such as MS Project.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, manage budgets, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Comfortable interacting directly with clients and supporting engineering teams when needed.
