Location: Pittsburgh / Mount Pleasant, PA
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: $80,000–$115,000 (flexible based on experience)
Start Date: January 1, 2026
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder

About the Role
Insight Global is hiring a full-time Field Engineer for Siemens Energy to support outage demands across power generation facilities. This role involves supervising field crews and coordinating with project engineers to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely execution of piping and auxiliary work scopes at combustion turbines, steam, and nuclear power plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence for crews and customer interactions
- Supervise welders, fitters, and leads during field execution
- Collaborate with back-office engineers on preplanning, documentation, tooling, and lessons learned
- Apply detailed knowledge of power plant piping, valves, oil systems, and auxiliary systems
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 0–5+ years of field experience, ideally in outages or generation services
- Willingness to travel and work in the field, with potential transition to a back-office Project Engineer role
- Experience overseeing technicians and working directly with customers
- Familiarity with equipment modifications and upgrades
- Basic computer skills for managing expenses, travel, and time reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings
- Prior experience at GE, Alstom, HMI, or similar competitors
- Field experience in welding or piping industries
- Personal interest in mechanical work (e.g., fixing cars, dirt bikes
