The Role:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Data Solution Engineer to join our R&D department. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our material analysis equipment by integrating process automation, data gathering, and artificial intelligence into our product line. You will work closely with scientists and engineers to design, develop, and implement solutions that enhance the capabilities and user experience of our instruments.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the marketing and R&D teams to identify requirements and opportunities for delivering advanced solutions that enhance our instruments' capabilities and user experience.
  • Use knowledge and experience, plus outside services, if need be, to direct and develop the AI related roadmap for our product line.
  • Develop/Select, implement, and test appropriate AI/ML related algorithms for identified applications by developing Alpha test software.
  • Work with the Software team to ensure seamless integration of newly developed functionalities into existing instrument software by helping with the programming and framework design.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Science/Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing advanced software solutions.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or related programming language.
  • Experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow/PyTorch, etc.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Services like Azure is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Skills in documentation and workflow management.
  • Passion for scientific innovation and instrumentation.
  • Strong work ethic.

Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 per year.
