Job DescriptionSalary: $16.40 Hourly BOE
The Personal Care Worker provides non-medical personal care and supportive services to individuals in their homes, assisting them with activities of daily living and helping maintain their independence and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Completion of a state-approved Personal Care Worker training program
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Help with toileting and incontinence care
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
- Perform light housekeeping tasks related to client's care
- Prepare and serve meals according to client's dietary needs
- Provide medication reminders (as allowed by state regulations)
- Assist with shopping and errands
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Observe and report changes in client's condition
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for the client
- Document services provided in accordance with agency policies
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and supervisors
