Key Responsibilities:

- Perform abrasive blasting and coating on ship components, ensuring all work meets or exceeds MIL-SPEC standards.
- Operate and maintain commercial blast and coat booths, including setup, routine maintenance, and thorough cleanup.
- Lead and mentor support staff, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
- Manage consumable usage, proactively replacing materials at optimal intervals to control cost without compromising quality.
- Achieve consistent blast and coating quality, delivering technically sound and aesthetically pleasing finishes.
- Accurately interpret and apply MIL-SPEC and customer specifications.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of work performed, inspections, and equipment maintenance.
- Support a clean, organized work environment, following 5S standards.
- Expertly use precision measurement tools, including: Psychrometers, Surface profile gauges, Dry Film Thickness (DFT) gauges, Pyrometers and surface thermometers, Manometers and magnehelic gauges

Shift & Training Details:
\n

- This position will train on 1st shift for several weeks.
- Once fully trained, the role will transition to 2nd shift.
- Excellent attendance is critical—reliability and punctuality are essential to team success and production flow.

Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- Prior experience in industrial or marine blasting and painting, particularly within a commercial blast/coat booth environment.
- Deep working knowledge of MIL-SPEC coating processes and requirements.
- Skilled in the operation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of blast and paint equipment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support assistant staff.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of craftsmanship and finish quality.
- Solid organizational habits and a proven record of accurate documentation.
- Must have reliable personal transportation.
