At Crystal Springs in Assonet, MA, we're on a mission to provide children and adults with disabilities with individualized, compassionate educational, therapeutic, and direct care support. We're seeking an equally passionate, respectful, and inclusive person to join us as a full-time Teacher's Aide and work in a classroom with our special education teacher. We also offer tuition reimbursement for waived special education teachers! If you meet the following criteria, you're eligible for reimbursement:

  • Employment as a Crystal Springs waived special education teacher
  • Enrollment in an approved educator preparation program for severe disabilities
  • Demonstration of continuous progress in second (and subsequent) years
  • Evaluation rating of "Needs Improvement" or higher in the preceding school year


DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

Here's what to expect in this entry-level role:

  • Working with the special education teacher to support assigned students with educational, therapeutic, and direct care services
  • Gaining an understanding of the Massachusetts curriculum framework
  • Helping the teacher maintain accurate student records
  • Performing vital direct care support to assigned students, such as eating, toileting, personal hygiene, etc.
  • Discussing students' progress with the teacher and providing input during evaluation periods
  • Leading activities and performing direct care services on teacher planning days
