What You’ll Do
- Design, write, and modify PLC programs to support new projects, upgrades, and system optimizations.
- Program and integrate HMI/SCADA systems for operators and maintenance teams.
- Perform I/O checkout, loop checks, and commissioning for new and existing systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC, communication, and I/O faults in live operating environments.
- Collaborate with controls engineers, field technicians, and electricians to integrate PLC systems with drives, instrumentation, and plant equipment.
- Document logic changes, maintain backups, and support change management for control systems.
- Assist with startups, retrofits, and system migrations under tight schedules and high-uptime expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a PLC Programmer, Controls Engineer, or Automation Specialist.
- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix / CompactLogix / MicroLogix), Siemens, or Modicon platforms.
- Ability to read and create ladder logic, function block, and structured text (depending on platform).
- Strong understanding of I/O, field devices, VFDs, safety circuits, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, etc.).
- Confident reading and working from electrical schematics, one-lines, and P&IDs.
- Methodical troubleshooting mindset — you don’t guess; you test, verify, and document.
- Willingness to travel or accept nationwide deployments for mission-critical projects.
- Calm under pressure, committed to uptime — in your world, failure is not an option.
Compensation & Deployment Structure
- $35 – $50/ hour DOE, plus project stipends, per diem, and travel pay.
- Premium compensation for high-impact missions, urgent mobilizations, and specialized expertise.
- Deployment under TRIFECTA Mission-Critical Deployment — contract, contract-to-hire, or project-based assignments depending on client needs.
