Our House is a residential training center that provides skills training for at-risk teenage boys. We work with our residents to become happy, healthy, and productive individuals, focusing on personalized development plans for future success. As a Direct Care Staff member you will be providing direct supervision of our trainees.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or above preferred
- Residential non-DDA childcare training
- MANDT or other Behaviorial Management Training
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Certified Medication Technician (CMT) desired
- RCYCP license OR willingness to become licensed upon hire
- Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement
- Background check, physical exam, and TB testing
- Weekly availability that includes AM, PM and Overnight shifts
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide continuous supervision and coverage of residents as outlined in the Trainee Handbook
- Perform weekly room checks for all residents
- Complete bi-hourly rounds and record notable resident conduct through the daily shift log and resident progress reports
- Provide off-site transportation for residents as needed
- Assist residents with daily care functions and behavior management
- Plan and implement individual and group activities in conjunction with resident improvement plans
- Report any vehicle maintenance or needed repairs
- Dispense medications and perform drug testing as directed (CMT license only)
- Maintain safety and security of staff office and all other spaces at all times
- Attend all staff meetings
