JOB OVERVIEW
Six Mile, LLC (SML) is seeking a Structures General Maintenance Worker to ensure the proper functioning of various systems within a facility. Their duties include routine checks, repairs, safety inspections, and coordination of supplies. The General Maintenance Worker will play a vital role in keeping buildings safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Structures General Maintenance will play a key role in Change of Occupancy Maintenance.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Remodeling and Framing.
- Handles necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Install equipment and appliances.
- Follows local and state building codes.
- Compliance with all company safety regulations.
- Flooring repairs and installation help.
- Report any issues to the maintenance manager or clients.
- Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
- Loads and unloads equipment and tools into work vehicles if needed.
- Follows written and verbal instructions from the maintenance manager or clients.
- Collaborates with the maintenance team and contractors as needed.
- Reads and follows manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions.
- Uses equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.
ABOUT YOU
- At least one year of building maintenance, construction, framing or finishing experience is required.
- A certification in building maintenance or licensed carpenter is a plus.
- Must have a driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
- Communicates effectively.
- Collaborates with maintenance workers, maintenance managers, and contractors.
- Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to maneuver around maintenance sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Job is performed in a variety of residential and commercial buildings in various types of inclement weather.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
- As a condition of employment, will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Having reliable transportation to/from work is a necessity and must be able to have access to military installations.
