JOB SUMMARY:
The Lapper Level I perform rough and finish lapping of seal components and precision machined parts to within 1-3 helium light bands, micro finish, height, and parallelism as required per drawing and our production routing. Performs duties with minimal supervisory direction. Orders and maintains necessary inventory of supplies. Independently troubleshoots problems and develops appropriate corrective actions. #Technetics #Technetics Group
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Maintains safe operations by identifying safety risks and adhering to safety procedures, requirements, and regulations.
- Performs set-ups and operates equipment as needed to maintain schedule.
- Reads and understands drawings to effectively lap parts to exacting tolerances.
- Maintains machine tools following established preventative maintenance schedules.
- Follows all prescribed quality procedures.
- Performs 1st piece inspections and monitors own work to meet process requirements.
- Maintains area in a neat an orderly manner.
- Capable to recover plate flatness and maintain it throughout the production run.
- Independently troubleshoots process problems and develops appropriate corrective actions.
- Operates ultrasonic cleaning unit.
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement Program, 5S program and culture.
- Operate automated bead blasting equipment and automated laser equipment.
- Utilizes PC based measurement equipment to verify product conformance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- One-year CNC Milling / Turning or Lapping experience in a job shop environment, preferred.
- Basic ability to operate computers
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings and routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to correctly interpret drawings dimensions and views; also, obtain help for more complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts on the drawing.
- Basic tool and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to utilize and interpret precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to perform basic shop math.
