Position Summary:
We are seeking caring and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. WE ARE LOCATED IN RANCHO PENASQUITOS!! We are newly vendorized and looking for full-time, part-time and over night DSPs.
DSPs provide daily living support, implement individualized service plans, and promote the health, safety, and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal care, meal preparation, and mobility.
- Implement individualized behavior and support plans under the guidance of supervisors.
- Support residents in community integration, skill development, and recreational activities.
- Accurately document progress notes, incidents, and daily logs as required by Title 17 regulations.
- Administer medications in accordance with training and facility policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
- Respond to emergencies and follow crisis intervention protocols as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and outside professionals.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background check
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in human services preferred.
- Minimum 6 months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred, but not required). Will train if not
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification recommended
- DSP I & DSP II Certification (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe)
- Physical and TB clearance
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (required for transportation duties).
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
