POSITION SUMMARY:
Litigation Assistants assist legal teams by providing clerical and research support services, including document preparation, requests for medical records and bills requests, lien requests, and review.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure litigation files are properly maintained and up to date.
- Serve as backup for office functions, including mail, printing, faxing, and copying documents.
- Ensure legal department files are maintained and destroyed in compliance with record retention policies and procedures.
- Collect documentation such as client authorizations and other pertinent documentation.
- Request updated bills, records, and liens that the Paralegal has tasked you with.
- Run public searches such as ISO, FDLE, and social media.
- Add witness to case management system.
- Assist as necessary with the Settlement Worksheet.
- Review billing records and input figures into case management system.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience requesting medical records and bills preferred, but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Organized with attention to detail.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office setting as well as working out in the field with the public at events. This role routinely uses standard office equipment: manual dexterity, physical mobility, and some physical strength/stamina.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to successfully complete most office tasks that require any physicality, which is limited in this position.
