Weinbrenner Shoe Company, a recognized leader in American-made footwear, is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Technician to join our Engineering Team. In this role, you will contribute directly to the development and enhancement of our production processes, support the reliability and performance of manufacturing equipment, and help maintain the high standards of quality that define our handcrafted footwear. You will work closely with engineers and production staff to implement improvements, resolve technical challenges, and ensure efficient, consistent operation across the manufacturing floor.
What You’ll Do:
As an Manufacturing Technician, you’ll be responsible for supporting Weinbrenner’s core values by:
- Define, document, measure, analyze, improve, and control manufacturing processes across Weinbrenner Shoe Company’s domestic operations, including subcontractors and sourcing partners when applicable.
- Maintain and enhance production line efficiency by improving training methods, refining workflows, and developing clear, accurate work instructions.
- Train manufacturing staff and production operators on assembly techniques, product requirements, process purpose, and quality standards.
- Support the management of work-in-progress (WIP) and raw materials on the production floor to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
- Follow Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) guidelines and partner with supervisors and operators to implement and meet preventive maintenance requirements.
- Provide technical support for tooling, machinery, manufacturing procedures, and material selection to meet production needs.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, and other key teams to ensure timely introduction of new footwear products and updates to existing designs.
- Contribute to on-time delivery objectives by maintaining productivity in daily tasks.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction throughout all responsibilities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, with a background in improving production line efficiency, training operators, and troubleshooting issues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and a willingness to learn new skills to expand technical knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to train team members, clearly document technical processes, and prepare technical reports.
- Proven ability to proactively identify problems, collaborate with others to develop solutions, and build strong working relationships across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience working with ERP systems is preferred.
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing, Quality Management Systems/ISO standards, root-cause analysis, or formal problem-solving methodologies is a plus.
- Must have a clean driving record for the past three years.
Education & Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Support role. An associate degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering is preferred, or a combination of education and experience. Shoemaking experience is a plus.
