Job Summary
BrightStar Care is seeking compassionate and dependable Caregivers to provide non-medical, in-home support to clients who need assistance with daily living activities. Caregivers play a critical role in maintaining client safety, dignity, and independence while following individualized care plans and company policies.
This position focuses on personal care, companionship, and observation, not skilled nursing or medical decision-making.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Daily Living Support

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene

Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation (including use of gait belts or Hoyer lifts when trained) HEAVY LIFTING REQUIRED

Provide meal preparation and feeding assistance in accordance with dietary needs

Perform light housekeeping tasks related to client care (laundry, dishes, tidying client areas)
Companionship & Engagement

Provide companionship and emotional support

Engage clients in conversation, cognitive activities, and social interaction

Support clients with memory impairment, Alzheimer's, or dementia using approved techniques
Medication Assistance (Non-Medical)

Assist with self-administration of medications as permitted by state regulations

Provide medication reminders and observe ingestion when required
-
Do not administer injections, change dosages, or make clinical judgments
-
Accurately document medication assistance and report concerns to the office
Observation & Reporting

Observe and report changes in client condition, behavior, or safety concerns
-
Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding incidents, refusals of care, or concerns

Complete required documentation accurately and on time
Compliance & Professionalism

Follow all care plans, safety protocols, and infection-control procedures

Maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times

Represent BrightStar Care professionally in appearance and conduct
Qualifications
-
Previous caregiving, home care, or personal care experience preferred

Ability to follow care plans and written instructions precisely

CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs with proper technique

Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

Ability to pass background check, TB clearance, and health screening

Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
