Job Description

The Early Childhood Court Teams (ECCT) are designed to support children under age 3 and their siblings under age 4 in the foster care system and provide an alternative to the regular judicial system for families. The ECCT initiative supports young children and their families involved in the child welfare system through coordinated service delivery and court-monitored progress. ECCT staff partner with DCFS staff, foster parents, birth families, judges, mental health providers and community partners to increase involvement and support to families. Currently, in place in Cook County and Winnebago County, the program’s goal is to expand to a statewide program.

The ECCT Program Director works a hybrid schedule which can be negotiated, some in person work is mandatory at the courthouse in Rockford and Chicago. Competitive benefits package.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in Social Work or other recognized professional degree in human services.
  • State licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
  • Professional experience of five (5) or more years in a public-sponsored, direct child welfare/mental health services, including child welfare Intake, Intact Family Services, Permanency/Foster Care Services.
  • At least three (3) or more years of supervisory experience of child welfare direct service staff and/or management of child welfare services.
  • Experience in child welfare,
  • Experience in the utilization and implementation of evidence informed practices in child welfare environments
  • Experience in the training of staff.

Background Check: This is a security-sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the University and IDCFS will conduct a pre-employment background check, which includes finger printing, state police check, FBI, and child abuse and neglect (CANTS) background check.
