Job DescriptionWe are seeking a reliable and team-oriented Daycare Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for children in a licensed childcare setting. This position is primarily responsible for morning food preparation and kitchen operations, with occasional support in classrooms when needed.Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and/or snacks according to daycare menus and dietary guidelines
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times
- Properly store food and maintain temperature logs as required
- Accommodate food allergies and special dietary needs
- Communicate effectively with directors and teaching staff regarding meals and supplies
- Assist in classrooms as needed for lunch breaks or short coverage when staffing allows
- Work collaboratively with the team and take direction as needed
Requirements:
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit (required)
- Willingness to obtain Food Manager Certification
- Ability to work morning hours consistently
- Ability to follow instructions and established routines
- Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility
- Ability to step into classroom support roles when needed
- Must be able to meet state childcare licensing requirements (background check, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience cooking in a childcare, school, or institutional setting
- Knowledge of child nutrition guidelines
