Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated Direct Support Staff to provide care and support to individuals during weekend shifts in a group home or home-like setting. Staff will assist with daily routines, personal care, and community involvement, while ensuring safety and well-being. This role requires completion of all required documentation and effective implementation of goals outlined in each individual's Person-Centered Plan (PCP).
Available Shifts - This position is for every other weekend (Friday - Sunday)
- Weekend 1st Shift (Morning): 9:00 AM 3:00 PM
- Weekend 2nd Shift (Afternoon): 3:00 PM 9:00 PM
- Weekend 3rd Shift (Overnight): 9:00 PM 9:00 AM
Essential Responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily living activities including dressing, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Assist with medication administration and monitor medical concerns such as seizures, allergies, and adaptive equipment use.
- Participate in recreational and community activities, including swimming and family events.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and incidents.
- Advocate for residents and support their personal goals and outcomes.
- Ensure safety and supervision at all times, protecting individuals from hazards.
- Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and minor repairs.
- Attend staff meetings and complete all required trainings.
- Provide transportation as needed, only when individuals are unable to do so independently.

Physical & Mental Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, stoop, bend, walk up to two miles, and perform household tasks.
- Adequate visual and audio acuity to supervise residents and respond to emergencies.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform basic math functions and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid drivers license with at least 3 years of driving experience and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Current auto insurance policy.
- Ability to work in a group home or home-like setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must maintain all state-required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, etc.).
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Must successfully complete all required training prior to placement.
Compensation
- Hourly Pay: $13.00 $15.00
- $15.00 rate for applicants with an Associates or Bachelors Degree and at least 2 years of experience with IDD/MH/DD.
This is a contract position and does not include benefits.
