Job Description
Commercial Real Estate Paralegal (Affordable Housing & Development)
Location: Financial District – Lower Manhattan, NYC (In-office)
Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 DOE
Schedule: Full-time, approx. 9AM–6PM (Paralegals bill around 1100 hrs/year, no strict requirement)
About the Opportunity
We’re assisting a specialized real estate firm located in New York’s Financial District that represents developers focused on affordable housing and community development projects nationwide.
Founded earlier this year by a team of experienced attorneys, the firm has already built a strong reputation for handling sophisticated, high-value transactions (often exceeding $100 million) while maintaining a culture that’s collaborative, grounded, and purpose-driven.
This is meaningful work that helps bring affordable housing and community projects to life — deals that make a real difference while keeping you engaged in challenging, rewarding transactions.
The Role
The firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support attorneys on development-side transactions involving:
- Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) acquisitions and financings
- Sales, joint ventures, and complex development deals
- Title, survey, and due diligence review
- Coordination with lenders, title companies, and local municipalities
This is a hands-on, ground-floor opportunity to join a growing practice with a robust deal pipeline and the chance to contribute directly to its success.
Who They’re Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial real estate experience, ideally on the developer, finance, or transactional side
- Strong skills in title and survey review, closing documents, and due diligence coordination
- Highly organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented
- Interest in affordable housing or community development (a plus, not required)
- Desire to grow within a fast-moving, high-caliber environment
What You’ll Love About This Role
- Exposure to sophisticated, large-scale real estate transactions nationwide
- Work that’s purpose-driven and community-focused
- Approachable, collaborative team of experienced attorneys
- Ground-floor growth opportunity with a firm that’s rapidly expanding
- Healthy balance — paralegals bill roughly 1100 hours per year with no strict requirement
If you’re a motivated commercial real estate paralegal who values both professional growth and meaningful work, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
