Position Title: Nursery Attendant
Location: On Premises of CBTS
Supervisor: Director of Ministries
Salary: Per SPRC Memo
Hours of Work: 3 hours/week – May exceed for special occasions
Must be in Nursery for prior preparation for incoming children and remain until all children have been retrieved by the proper adult.
Status: Part Time, Non-exempt
General Description:
The Nursery Attendant assists with the Church Nursery to ensure it is a secure, nurturing environment where each child will see, hear and feel the love of Jesus Christ and parents can feel confident their child will receive the highest quality of care and ministry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a positive and friendly attitude with parents and children, establishing caring and positive relationships
- Provide primary nursery coverage assisted by volunteers, scheduled in accordance with the United Methodist Child Protection Policy.
- Abides by the Children and Youth Protection Policy of the United Methodist Church at all times.
- Ensure all volunteers are informed of nursery policies and guidelines and oversee their implementation.
- Ensure the care, maintenance, cleanliness, security and safety of the nursery areas and equipment.
- Ensure information sheets are created and maintained for each child.
- Ensure nursery supplies and inventories are kept current.
- Control traffic in and out of the nursery.
- Implement age-appropriate Christian Education as provided.
- Completion of CPR training as required to maintain certification.
- Maintain a list of emergency contact personnel and emergency plan.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Possess a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
- Be an individual of good moral and Christian character.
- Be a highly disciplined self-starter.
- Ability to maintain a clean and healthy nursery environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have a basic working knowledge of personal computers and email applications.
Qualifications:
- Personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic working knowledge of personal computer and email applications.
- Ability to recruit, to train, and motivate volunteers.
- At least 18 years old; Satisfactory completion of background check and re-screening checks; Satisfactory completion of annual child protection training.
Essential Physical Skills: Position requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching and may require lifting up to 20 pounds. Qualified candidates also must possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate nursery equipment, and care for children safely (including infants).
