YOUR IMPACT
Our F5 Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our extensive network infrastructure that supports over 8,000 devices. This is a dynamic leadership role where you skillfully oversee and direct the operations of our core transport network engineering team to ensure we're promptly and fully meeting our clients' needs. You guide less-experienced IT staff in accurately completing tasks like troubleshooting, routing, switching, and performance monitoring as well as collaborate with hardware and software vendors when needed.
Client satisfaction is a top priority, and you actively communicate with senior clients to ensure we're consistently fulfilling their needs. You evaluate existing systems, new applications, infrastructure, and cloud strategies to identify system enhancements and help guide business decisions. Additionally, you help enhance system efficiency by developing installation and configuration procedures and creating automation scripts to support migration and integration tasks. You also work with security teams to identify and fix vulnerabilities. Tackling special projects as needed, your leadership and computer science expertise are vital to our success!
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Active network certification, such as Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field like computer science OR equivalent work experience
Experience and Technical Skills
- 10+ years of relevant IT experience
- 3+ years of experience supporting DOD, DISA, or JSP network environments
- Experience troubleshooting, configuring, upgrading, and monitoring F5 load balancers
- Experience with network management and analysis tools like SNMP probes, NetScout, SolarWinds, etc.
- Expertise in managing Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
- Proficiency in network security, SDN, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP, etc.
- Strong understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, and vulnerability remediation
- Scripting skills for automating administrative tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- F5 network certification
- Experience with Remedy ITSM, server operating systems (Linux, Windows, UNIX), and Visio for network topology documentation
- Experience working on proposals and supporting teleworkers and remote access technologies
