We're growing - and we're looking for a SolidWorks Designer who's passionate about creating high-quality, technically sound designs that make an impact in the manufacturing world.
Position Overview
As a SolidWorks Designer at our Client, you'll design and develop weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, and custom tooling to support the production of material handling and storage products. You'll collaborate closely with our engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to turn concepts into reliable, cost-effective, and efficient solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both creative design and practical application, with a hands-on approach to solving engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop material handling and storage systems, including manufacturing and assembly fixtures, using SolidWorks.

Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D technical drawings with precise tolerances and specifications.

Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet production efficiency, safety, and quality goals.

Conduct design and performance reviews to verify durability, compliance, and functionality.

Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs, incorporating feedback to optimize results.

Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate with procurement for material selection.

Ensure compliance with safety, ergonomic, and industry standards for material handling environments.

Provide ongoing technical support during design implementation and troubleshooting.
Qualifications

2+ years of experience in SolidWorks for product design, 3D modeling, and technical drawings.

Proven background in designing weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, or production tooling.

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, and assembly.

Proficient in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.

Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for stress/load validation in SolidWorks.

Knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or additive manufacturing.

Familiarity with ASME, ISO, or AWS standards for welding and fixture design.
