Job Overview:
The Reentry Navigation Manager for the LEAP (Linking Employment Activities Pre-release) Program provides critical support to individuals transitioning from incarceration to the community, helping them address barriers to employment and successful reintegration. This role involves direct engagement with participants both pre-release and post-release, focusing on Employment services, case management, goal setting, and connecting participants to essential resources. The Reentry Navigation Case Manager will work closely with program staff, correctional facilities, community partners, and employers to create a comprehensive support network that promotes participant success.
Facilitation;
Must go to the prison and county jail 1-2 times weekly teaching a cognitive behavior therapy employment focused curriculum. Once clients are released you will facilitate workshops each month.
Employment Services:
- Conduct job readiness assessments and help clients identify appropriate employment pathways.
- Deliver or coordinate soft skills training (e.g., interviewing, resume writing, workplace expectations).
- Facilitate connections to job training, apprenticeships, and credentialing opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with second-chance employers, temp agencies, and training partners.
- Support clients in applying for jobs, preparing for interviews, and retaining employment.
- Provide follow-up support post-placement to promote long-term employment success.
Case management:
- Help obtaining ID's and other legal documents.
- Referrals to housing, substance use services, and other services.
Travel:
- Must have dependable vehicle.
- Must be willing to travel to Charleston and Jackson 1-2 times a week. Once participants are released we will serve them in Perryville, Scott County, Bollinger County, and Cape Girardeau. We are hiring 2 positions so each employee will split these counties.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of reentry barriers, trauma-informed care, and workforce development principles.
- Experience with job development, employer engagement, and employment coaching.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Must
have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), data entry, the Google suite of products, and digital documentation systems. - Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.
Preferred
- Lived experience with incarceration, reentry, or system involvement.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
YOU WILL BE GOING INTO THE CHARLESTON PRISON AND CAPE COUNTY JAIL.
PASSING A BACKGROUND CHECK IS A REQUIREMENT BEFORE WE CAN SEND YOU A JOB OFFER.
IF YOU HAVE PRIOR CONVICTIONS THEN YOU NEED TO BE OFF OF PROBATION/PAROLE FOR 5 YEARS BEFORE THE PRISON WILL ALLOW YOU TO COME AS A VISITOR!
