Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the installation, commissioning, and validation of complex custom automation systems at customer facilities.

* Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues.

* Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.

* Deliver comprehensive technical training to client operators and maintenance teams, ensuring their self-sufficiency.

* Act as a primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering/project teams, providing expert feedback for design improvements.

* Meticulously document all service activities, modifications, and findings in detailed reports.

* Manage project schedules and priorities effectively while working independently in the field.

Recommended Qualifications:

* Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

* 3-5 years of proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or Senior Maintenance Technician in the industrial automation, special machine building, or manufacturing sector.

* Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and programming PLCs (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Mitsubishi) and HMIs.

* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics, as well as control logic.

* Solid experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, ABB, Universal Robots) and/or machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).

* Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues independently.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong client relationships.

* Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75% or more) to customer sites across North America and potentially internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

* Experience with various motion control systems (servos, VFDs) and sensor technologies.

* Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.

* Prior experience supporting custom-built, one-off machinery.

* Capacity to quickly pivot between diverse technical challenges and customer environments.
