Job DescriptionAerotek is looking for a Skilled Field Service Technician
The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in new construction and renovation projects, handling various responsibilities with expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and maintain low voltage systems including:
- Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics)
- CCTV and IP surveillance systems
- Access control and intercom systems
- Audio/visual equipment and conference room setups
- Fire alarm and intrusion detection systems (as applicable)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Pull, terminate, and label cables according to industry standards
- Mount and configure devices such as cameras, panels, and sensors
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to meet deadlines
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service calls
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with local codes and regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage installation or related field
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, cable testers, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces
Work Environment
This role involves working in the field, providing hands-on technical support in various construction and renovation settings.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, Delaware.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
