Job Title: Quality Control / Quality Assurance Inspector
Location: Torrance, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour (DOE)
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Reports To: Quality Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Full-Time
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control / Quality Assurance Inspector to perform detailed inspections of mechanical and precision components, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and industry standards. This is a pure quality inspection role, focused on documentation, measurement, and verification of components in a manufacturing environment serving aerospace and defense. This role does not involve machining, production, or operator tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections per ASME, ANSI, and MIL Spec standards
- Develop and maintain inspection documentation, including checklists and templates
- Perform visual inspections (VT) on castings and welds per MSS SP-55 and MIL-STD-248
- Review and document nonconformities (NCRs), CPAs, KPIs, and assist in MRB reviews
- Coordinate with DCMA and outside processing vendors for source inspections
- Perform calibration checks and maintain inspection tools and equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Document inspection results and communicate findings to production and engineering teams
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3–5 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing
- Certification: A&P Repairman’s Certification (preferred, not required)
- Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, FAA standards
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Familiarity with CMM and NDT (Level 1 & 2) procedures
- Experience with SAP, R4, M3 Pro Works, or similar quality systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training in Quality Assurance, Inspection, or related field preferred
