Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE), Test, will be responsible for leading the materials test group, providing timely support to our internal or external customers, and monitoring the quality of GP product, and supporting the application and execution of our AS9100 based quality management system.
This is an advanced, technical position within the General Plastics’ Quality Assurance Department who reports to the Quality Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
· Manage the test facilities and equipment
· Develop and train test technicians
· Develop, implement and maintain test procedures,
· Manage, Interpret, and Report test data to internal and external stakeholders
· Ensuring that all tests are performed at least to the applied standards
· Work with Operations, R&D, Engineering and Sales teams to evaluate and test products for both new development and monitoring of existing products
· Validate new processes and products
· Lead review and disposition of identified potential non-conforming product
· Lead and/or assist internal auditing processes for quality assurance and compliance
· Engineering degree in a relevant field, e.g., B. Eng. (Mechanical, Material Science, etc..) or equivalent experience
· 3+ years experience as a Quality or Test Engineer, preferably with composite materials
· 3+ years Experience with Universal Test Machines, TMA and DSC instrumentation preferred
· Knowledge and expertise with ASTM, MIL, ISO, or other specified test methods applicable to plastics
· Experience with material flammability testing preferred
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to multitask effectively within a team environment in managing priorities
· Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) designation or a willingness to obtain certification

· Base compensation range is $80-$110k annually, depending on experience
