Quantum is seeking an environmental scientist, geologist, or environmental engineer to provide field sampling support at environmental sites on an as-needed, hourly-paid basis as a 1099. We presently have field events scheduled during the next three months, and we may seek field support for activities beginning after the start of the year. The weekly schedule will vary based on project needs. Sampling activities may include groundwater, soil, soil vapor, or support with well installations or soil borings. A Quantum staff will be present with the 1099 on-site during sampling activities. All sampling work must adhere to site-specific requirements, which will be shared with the 1099 prior to sampling work.
The candidate must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or environmental engineering
- Be 40-hour HAZWOPER certified and current on 8-hour refresher training and medical monitoring
- Have 2-3 years of groundwater sampling experience including low-flow pumping and bailing
Office work may be also available for the candidate and may include report writing support, generating tables, reviewing analytical results, or general office support such as organizing field equipment or picking up laboratory bottle orders.
The expected hourly rate for this 1099 role is $40 per hour, which may be modified based on experience.
This position has the possibility of hiring as a full-time role which will be dependent upon performance and available project work at Quantum.
