Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students with cognitive disabilities and mobility challenges. The role is full-time for the school year and involves direct onsite engagement with students requiring specialized instructional strategies tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with cognitive and mobility impairments.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other educators to promote student success.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly.
- Provide a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with high school students with cognitive disabilities and mobility challenges.
- Familiarity with "Strat II" level supports and adaptations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and implement behavior management strategies.
